How to re-purpose a old charity domain?

First some stats for this domain I bought on auction: http://prntscr.com/ml10ys

Since the stats are not that great, 30 RD and 182 backlinks, I was able to get it for $17. As far as I can tell, the domain is clean (not spammed) and legit, Though it's been showing "coming soon" on homepage for 1 year...

I guess the old owner wanted to re-design the site.

In the past the website was used as non-profit tech summer camp for kids. It has some decent backlinks: http://prntscr.com/ml12z7

I would be interested in your and specially @Nargil 's opinion if this is worth $17. I'm still pretty new to buying domain for PBN, I was happy the whois record shows, domain registered 2017 - updated 2019...

And finally, I have technology blog, I'm kinda confused as to how to re-purpose this domain to link to my blog. It wasn't based on wordpress in the past, just a generic charity site, very Joomla looking and not many articles. Most of the backlinks are to the homepage.

Other thoughts:
Right now I'm thinking, I will just restore the site from wayback and somehow link to my blog from the homepage. Something like "the technology that these kids learn are used to make the best products in the market" [best products linking to my blog].

Though I wonder if there is a better way.

Well, metrics considering, perfectly fine for $17, especially if it's clean. If you want to use it as a money site, then do not expect much in that regard.

I definitely want to use this as a PBN, it is vaguely niche relevant... the other part of my question was about how to re-purpose the site, a non-profit charity site, into a PBN?

Well, charity into tech... hmm... you really need to get creative with that one. Let me finish this glass of wine and I will surely come up with something.

well to be fair, it was for a non-profit tech summer camp for kids.... and most of the decent backlinks are from tech/robotics related websites. I can PM you the domain if you are interested

I would suggest rebuild it on Wordpress (add the old posts manually), set up separate hosting to your blog and throw a link on the PBN back to your blog (even if its niche relevant or not). Rinse and repeat. Unless your blog is an important site making $xxx+ a day then not really much to worry about. Though you could test the site and link to another site first to see how it reacts before linking direct to your site.

Its pretty easy to link to tech website actually. Your charity got tech donated by... your charity get advice from.... while buying their software. The possibilities are endless.
However if I am guessing correctly you got the domain from GoDaddy? Thats mean that you spend close to $30 total for this domain which is kind of way too much. Obviously depending how good the actual links are, but with DR that low... there are rarely good do-follow links. For $20-$25 you can have more niche related expired domain with better links most likely.

As Far as i know it can be reconstructed using Wordpress Tools and even without altering previously posted old posts.

Is it possible to restore expired domains to wordpress? wordpress tools? As far I know, you can only get html files from wayback and if you want to convert to wordpress, you have to do it manually....

Honestly man, the prices at GoDaddy auctions are absurd. I've never had a domain I liked go for less than $200....After 3-4 days of searching, this was the best found. These days I just cross my fingers and go for GD closeouts...
