How to rank GMB higher on google maps list?

Hey, so i have this problem.

I have lots of reviews, updates, products etc etc on my GMB page. My competitors has 0 and many less reviews with lower average rating aswell.

But still my company is further down on the list. Google says they place the GMB that are active the highest, but it doesnt seem to be true.

Is there a way to rank higher on the google maps?

GMB positioning consists of many factors, the following actions can help:
- embedding GMB in the form of iframes on PBNs, forums, NAPs
- manipulating the CTR
- getting more reviews
- backlinks to GMB (shortened url, full url + cid url)
- optimization of description and map title

google map citations, is this the same as building links to it?

i dont like fake reviews, we only have authentic ones but good to know

add a emoji in front of your gmb name
 
Embeding the map to your website, location pages (if this is for US do it for county and then for town and in each page divided for different products and services), make gmb postings constatly and linked them to your social media accounts, citations, link building, press releases, use the free website that google has to create a website 2.0 take advantage of that.

I´ve seen people creating multiple gmbs if you have an office and serve people at that location you can also try that, but that only will work if you have or attend people at that location if not dont try it, remember that google allows you to have another gmb which less that 110 miles radious only if you get customers at that location if not it might be flagged.
 
may be your Competitor GMB Name must have Keyword or his GMB must be aged

Check insights of your GMB and see for which keyword you getting more traffic

Are you getting Some Actions by users like Calls, Direction, Website Clicks, etc

these are great advices, thanks!!!

the ones ranking higher are not older than mine, we changed the adress and i think we lost lots of rankings on the map since then, now i embedded the google map with our adress on the homepage and contact page, hopefully we will see them go up

i can also see on the insights we lost alot, like 50-70% compared to last year, both in terms of clicks to website and clicks to phone number

also our GMB is also full of quality content, news, pictures, services etc, compared to our competitors who has like 0 content on their gmb

Install the app to chat with your customers

Make sure your website has your city and address

First, a better question is "how do I get more business from Google Maps". By increasing the search to your profile, your client will get more calls. This is done with all the things you mentioned, but GPI, google profile interaction is key. It is no mystery that Google likes to reward local actions using their stuff with more of the same. This will give you the bump you are looking for, more bottom-line revenue.

On a side note, rank is examined by GEO Grid Maps/ tools is an indicator only. They are pulling their information from Google Maps, but not from the Map Pack. From everything we have tested, the Map Pack is on a cue system. There is no way you can have the same 3 guys owning a map pack no matter how many tricks they have. This is just a myth because the map listings are stagnant because they are not used by Google to award map pack positions 100%. Everyone on the list has to get love from Google in the form of some search or the search engine has no value. Yes, the key is to get more than your competitors. You can dominate the cue and this is done by showing Google people want your brand and are choosing you over competitors. There is a software tool for this that works great.

What keywords you target on those location pages?

I'm working on website which have been built targeting two areas/cities close to each other on every page, so homepage is like "Professional services in this and that area" and then there's service page built similar way.

Now they've added actual real second location on the other area and of course they want to leverage that by creating new GMB. I'm no local SEO expert so I'm bit confused if we should now be creating separate location pages on the website since there's now two separate locations?

And if so, what keywords are we targeting on those? The issue is that the site is ranking already for some of the easier keywords and wouldn't really want to start doing full re-structure either.

Any tips?
