How to rank for one or two keywords?

I was wondering how often I should mention a keyword on a simple product page or in a blog article to push up the search engine rankings for that particular keyword.

Is a key word density of 10% acceptable for this page?

What if each single page has a 10% keyword density?

I dont understand how people can rank for keywords with a density of 1% only on one page and 0% on all other pages of their website *confused*

10% is way to high. I personally go for at least 1% and max of 3%

Dont forget to bold the keyword and put it in H1 and H2 tags

Keyword density is not that important. Those days ended a long time ago.

With that being said, don't have a keyword density of 10%, it is ridiculously high. I rarely have a keyword density of much above 1%. Don't worry about it, and just use the keyword naturally in your writing, and of course in your heading.

It would be best to use 1 to 3 % of keyword density. This looks natural and helps you to get ranking. It is always best to use keyword in your title. Make sure that you are not dumping keywords in your article.

For Small Blog Post Article:
5 keyword in 100 Word Article (Guest Post)
12 keyword in 300 Word Article (Web 2.0 Blog Post)


For Money Site:
7-9 Keywords for 1000 Word Article.
Max 15 for 1500+ Article.

10% is way too high and would make your article look ridiculous to any readers and spammy as hell to google. Keyword stuffing used to work several years ago and people would even use white text on a white background to hide them from their readers while the spiders still recognized them for use as a ranking factor. Those days are long gone though.

1%-3% seems to be the going trend but there really seems to be no magic number. LSI keywords sprinkled throughout your content seems to be a discerning factor in ranking a page for your targeted keyword. Google LSI keywords... latent symatic indexing... and read up to get a better understanding.

As for the 1% density on one page and 0% density on the other pages... Well LSI keywords are likely a factor there as well. Basically its just related keywords that should be mentioned and covered on a site that is providing good, informative content on a particular subject.

Just a vague example would be if your keyword was "Dog".... Well you mention "Dog" 1%-3% in your article but you also mention "German Shepard", "Pit Bull", "Chihuahua", and "Collie" in that article... Well those are all different types of dogs, hence a related or LSI keyword. Google detects your article is about dogs.

Then you write an article strictly focusing on "Collie"... dont even mention the word dog in the article but interlink it back to your main "DOG" article. Then do the same with the other breeds. Even though those articles dont mention "dog" Google knows they are related and will give a little juice to your main article.

So read up on LSI keywords and site interlinking to get a better understanding... I would also suggest you read about silo sites as this will give you a better understanding on using internal link juice flow on your site to increase rankings.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in density either. Instead, just place the keywords in all of the right places.

1-3% as said above by other guys is the best way to go as found in my case studies.

1% - 3% plus add other LSI that will help you rank.

You know people talk a lot about kw density and other shit.. to honest i have seen my competitors rank with 80% anchors. I am playing around with a site right now that is around 20% main anchor rest spread out and i am on the 2nd page for it. Its really how your onpage and content looks like in my opinion.

lots of people are throwing around percentages. you shouldn't be thinking of percentages or making it bold or anything. focus on writing the content so its readable, makes sense and converts well. by doing this you will mention it atleast once and if it reads nicely then it probably wont be mentioned too much to be considered to be over optimising. on page seo is great but really at the end of the day off page SEO makes up the majority of the SEO and if the content doesnt convert it doesnt matter if it has great on page SEO because you wont make as much money

an average of 3% - 5% should be fine but you need to consider if the keyword is in the URL, or domain name, is it in H1 and H2 too, try to mix related keywords as well, when you finish take a step back and have a deep look at your article, and answer with honesty, does it look as natural article ? if the answer is YES, Google will say the same thing about it too

Considering that we keep the density low and the writing natural, I would add 5 backlinks for each new article and I write about 4 articles per week. This is done for two websites, one is just 4 months or the other one is 2 years old. That would lead to 20 new backlinks per week. I hope to land on page 1 and assumed this is the best approach to do it. Would you agree?

Go with 1-3% as said above

The keyword density should be between 2-3% only just to avoid any penalty.

My suggestion also 1-3% mate it will be good.
