    Hello guys,

I have been thinking of starting a website (again) I had a website before which was earning me $5 a day but it all went to crap due to personal problems (long story) but here i am again.

I have always wondered this and still wondering how do you guys do it? I mean for example i start a fitness website mainly focusing on women's vegan fitness, now i do my research and find like 100 long tail low competition keywords perfect to write articles about.

How do i rank all of these articles? So suppose i start the website today and post 10 articles directly and then post 1-2 articles daily for the weeks to come, each article containing its own low competition keyword to rank, do i rank each of these articles individually daily? That would be a lot of work to do, building tiered links untill the site gets traction and starts building links naturally or if i pay for it, for each keyword it would cost $$$-$$$$ which is alot of money.

Is there an easier way to do this or do you build links for each keyword untill the website starts ranking and getting links naturally?

Your amazing input would be wonderful :)

Hey, thank you very much for that link, it was VERY informative, but i am looking to rank 100s of low competition long tail keywords, for example for something like a news site which posts articles of different sorts everyday or a gaming site which reviews games plus posts news etc so how do they rank their keywords?

Tbf authority site is a term that gets chucked around a lot, takes a chunk of investment and may perform or may not (see the niche persuits authority edition, they gave up as they were getting less returns that niche sites).
In your boots I would get in touch with someone like Ardley for a group of killer low comp high search keywords that are all related, ie 10 or so. Build out content to suit those keywords and style of Google is ranking in one website, chuck in somehow to guides, glossaries, FAQs for good measure, then take those keywords and stick them into something like long tail pro (not the best for calculating though a good help) now bulk analyse (a new feature) take all keywords with a comp less than 33, and look through, for some reason LTP seems to think YouTube videos have massive authority and some forums are great. Then catagorise keywords and have articles put together focusing on those group of long tails, put up some reviews and links, earn some dollar, and build out from there.

Main thing to take away start slow and build out!

I'm writting a pretty comprehensive guide on this exact topic and hopefully can get that up soon.

But to be honest, authority sites are in no way "fast" to create. They require lots of patience and time. As tg01 mentioned above, your best bet is to start slow and start ranking for a few keywords to begin with (1-10). Once they're ranking high, you have your initial traffic - which should be making you some money.. and now you can work on extra keywords. Pick another 10-20 keywords and work on them. Slowly scale things up. There is no short cut to this as far as I'm aware.

I'm currently in the process of creating an authority site in the travel niche.. and I'm still going.

You'll find that once some of your main keywords are ranking - you'll automatically be ranking for some longtails without any SEO. This is not always the case, but this does happen on its own once your site starts ranking highly for big terms.

Of course, you could take a direct short cut and buy lots of GSA blasts and target all your keywords but that defeats the whole purpose of an "authority site". These sites take a while before it either "works" or "bombs". It's by no means quick.

Alternatively, to avoid link building to each page, you could simply target your homepage (domain.com) and just build lots of links (with brand anchors). This will improve the overall authority/foundation of your site and in return you will start ranking for lots of long tail terms, but this isn't always the case. The most straight forward, simple solution would be to rank each page on your site. Start of slow, and scale it up. Once you get to the stage where your site has hundreds of articles ranking for big money keywords, then you've "made it" and any further articles you add should rank without any major issues/link building required.

I use paid PBN posts for this on my sites typically. It comes with risk, but I don't have time/money to build better stuff to tons of pages. You could manually build web2.0 and contributor links if you want less risk, but thats no easy task.

I was about to write a long boring respond but Leith pretty much said it all. I would start with a couple keywords (preferably in the same topics/niche) and do some inter-linking between these articles. Building branded links to homepage/domain will definitely help your rank but imo you still going to have to build links to each of your page/post you are trying to rank. If done right, you can probably start seing some good results after 3-4 months then it would be pretty easy to scale it up.
