How to rank for keywords?

When you post a comment you'll be asked your name and your website, so you can use your interested keyword as your name. You can also put the link in your comment body using html code <a href="your url">your keyword</a>.

I have been putting it on websites that are related to my keywords, and looking up the keyworded back links of my competitors. If this works, I should have them all out keyworded by weekend, as they only seem to have 15 to 20 keyworded back links. There must be more to this.
Super not simple. I think I need to break things down to the core. The putting my site niche as my user name bombed. Perhaps I didn't understand the concept.

Yeah it can be a pain in the ass if the comments are moderated. I'm still struggling with getting comments by this. You might take a look at what other people are doing to get them to stick.
But a backlink is a backlink even if the anchor text is a name. I'm not sure how much if any this takes away from the value of the link.
A sneaky little trick you might try is to use at least part of your niche keyword as your name. Like if you are promoting acai berry you might use John Berry or John A. Berry or even better A.C. Berry!
