How to rank first page on youtube

Hi everyone-

I've been on YouTube for a few years and initially posted videos within an industry with very little competition. I received a good amount of views, but had to work and go to school, so I stopped posting. Since then my competition has grown and I'm no longer ranking #1. I'm a partner with 3100 subscribers/ 500,000+ views. I've been posting a video a week since novemeber and I'm thorough with my keyword,description information. On average a new video gets about 80 views a week. I'm also putting out press releases through PRweb/twice a month for the past 2 months and that's doing nothing. Do I add lots of users to my google + account to increase viewership? Any recommendations to rank high using whitehat method/ no bots? ( I also have a blog-should I do backlinking/hire someone to work on the SEO side?) Sorry for all the questions!! :)Thanks in advance!!:o

it really depends on what your market it. Is there a lot of competition for your keywords? Are you spreading the word via social networks? I would suggest starting with some high retention views, but that's not very whitehat! Depending on your niche, try something like twitter, follow people interested in your topic, tweet at them etc. I've also had a lot of success on YT by posting video links in the comments section on top sites (like mashable). If you say the niche, I can help more.

Most of it comes down to high retention views for your YouTube video and that is going to make it rank higher
than sites with less views or subscribers.

Depends on many factors !

Depends on how you managed your TITLES, DESCRIPTION and how many views you have to your video + backlinks

Two very different things.
 
hire someone to raise the views, and the video will be ranked in the first pages
 
no one really knows ... whats working is the unlist method ( don't ask me , do a search )
 
Honestly your only way is to spread your videos through social medias. Be creative and unique.
 
Yeah I bought a few high retention views before and everything was all good...few days later bam my video was gone...so you gotta watch.
 
aged accounts with high PR + Drip views + retention views + comments + keyword comment + social signals + embed videos on sites/forums + backlinks.
 
Backlinks and views have nothing to do with ranking on Youtube.
Some videos rank on first page without any vies or backlinks on the first day they being posted.
Few things that I see really matters is:
1. Title. (description and tags are less important)
2. Your channel. If your channel made directly for one niche you videos will rank better in that niche. Age of channel and amount of videos on it. Best if your videos backed up from your blog. Each video on relevant page with useful content.
3. All kind of shares are good, except direct linking from the page with regular link to it.
