I use 10% donation and larger pictures and bold. Usually gets u more views.
If you can promote, you can do a 8-12% promotion on it, untill you get enough sales to be ranked high, then you can drop the promo or lower it.
Promo gives good sales, even on 2-4%

You can also ride on other ppls sales. Just go to there item, and use the "sell one lke this' option.
I find i get more sales then when making a listing from scratch.
I have no science to back it up, but its my experience of 21 years of ebay.

The only thing it really matters for eBay is STR (sell throw rate). is evaluated around the 20th of every month. before we had to adjust price and title but now this does not matter that much. just make sure your "UPC"(barcode) is correct and they will show your listing when they have to.
Make sure your STR is good and keep your account in good standard and reply to your customers as fast as you can.

yes, and followers are also conversion to sales.
When you have 20+ followers, throw an offer out for some nice boost of sales.
You can do this over and over, ebay wont sent the offer to the same person.
So when you click on sent offer, you can see how many ppl will get the offer
