Hello friends,

is ranking an ecommerce store much different than, lets say a blog with adsense. Is it harder? because less content
I only have a blog and now i want to build an ecommerce store

Should I do the same linkbuilding techniques as for a blog or how should i go about it ideas are appreciated.

Thanks in advance

It's pretty much the same. Google ranks all websites based on the same algorithm.

Yeah same algorithm, but on ecommerce site there is much less content and mostly only product desprection which is even often duplicate content.

below is the competition for 40k searches keyword. would you consider this easy or difficult?

competition is medium on the keyword but use EMD. EMD works well and make it authority site with high quality backlinks. Try social media and social networking for instant traffic.

Good luck mate.

Add a blog to your ecommerce site. That way you can generate content and give it better on site SEO by linking to the shopping pages.

I wouldn't be so sure it's the same algorithm ;)

Hello

I added a blog with around 70 articles, but i never linked them to my store, i also never did SEO on them and i think no one linked to them from other sites. How i put links there to my store, like every article and will i do exactly the KW ?

Thanks

If you are in e-commerce then you can get advantage of some great features, first clear the concept of content.

Google Panda .... If you are using vendor provided description for your store then forget you will rank, you have to add unique product details for each item. Some variables can be same but increase some content on your landing pages (product page).

Short thin content can be easily targeted under Panda algo.

In e-commerce store you can enable reviews, try "Rich Snippets for Reviews and Ratings" you will get special appearance in Google search result.

Blog section:
You can get special benefit from it for your store, add some targeted posts in your blog and link them to your store, its pretty easy to rank blog post for long tail keywords .. (targeted keywords only) ... instead of target xxxx monthly searches, target only xxx search results in start, there is better chance to get conversion.

There are many more things, like product categories, variations, special offers, etc .. by default every CMS of e-commerce comes with internal duplicate pages like wordpress. You need check all things in detail which page should be indexed.

Link building techniques are almost same, its just playing game :)

Thank you guys

Just bought partialmatch domain
will now look for a nice looking ecommerce theme and a dropshipping supplier

Create blog section and add unique content to it. Do good onpage SEO with unique content and tart building quality backlinks. PBNs, guest posts. Web2.0s, videos, etc. for diversification.

You just identified your own problem genius.... Add more content to category pages and rank those for generic terms, use unique product descriptions and rank those for product names.
