How to rank an EMD ?

Hi All ,
I have found a misspelt keyword with High volume of searches . But whenever i search typing the misspelt keywrd in google search , i can see the correct keyword that google want me to see i.e. something like this :
"Showing results for 'correct keywrd' , search instead for 'misspelt' keywrd "
Also many times , i even see something like this :
Did you mean : correct keywrd
So can any1 kindly suggest , how to rank the misspelt keywrd if i bought the same as emd .
As evident from the above cases , Google seems to prefer the right keywrd by showing results related to the correct keywrd . Is there any way to rank the misspelt domain at the top of Google searches ?

Google murdered misspelled keywords years ago. A long time ago, it would show you the misspelled results, and say "Did you mean xyz?" Now, they show the proper results and give you the option to go for the misspelling, which is very unlikely anyone goes for. You're probably wasting your time on this one.

The only thing I can think of is if the misspelling were brandable, and you did a ton of work to basically make the misspelling seem like a legitimate brand that people are actually looking for. It would likely be a very big gamble.

Yes, I've seen weak sites ranking in pretty competitive keywords (considering how weak their authority is) and it's likely because they have the keywords in their domain. Look at keyword phrases mentioning yorkies, and you'll see small sites ranking in the SERPs among much stronger sites, and in my opinion, it's because they have the word "yorkie" in their domain, rather than them being a general animal site.

There is still relevance value to having keywords in your domain, but it's not like it used to be.

It's a waste of time to rank for a misspelled keyword phrase. I wouldn't even bother.

Id not bother trying to rank for something like 'Mptt Pant" though which I guess is what you are referring to.

However...

Depends what is though:

Mat Paint
Matt Paint
Matte Paint

Are all the same, spelt different give different results but are all paint based..

EMD is working fine nowadays. All you need is a few powerful links.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that EMD's don't matter.. just saying that going after misspellings is not an efficient use of anyone's time and will likely prove not to be a good return on investment.

i doubt it. lots of safety mechanism in place to ensure people do not got to hootmail.com, micrsoft.com, gogle.com, etc. these stupid tricks are long gone. you thought for a second that you had an advantage?! sorry friend. try again

What type of emd then u r talking about .... So u mean that we shouldn't care about misspelt emds.... the misspelt branded emds still work right ?

thanks for ur inputs . Can u pls give sm sample examples ....what kind of emd is worth searching for .... it will be very helpful ....

If it was me, I'd search for affiliate sites.. look for various footprints like "earnings disclosure" or "affiliate disclosure". Using a tool like semrush or ahrefs put those domains in and see if you can find any low hanging fruit. What I mean by low hanging fruit is a term where a domain may be ranking in the first 3 results but yet their domain is under an authority score of 20 ,then I'd check out the exact page that is ranking to see what links are going to that page through a backlink analysis.. I like to target less than 50 links and then I'll check to see what each of the top 10 results are doing for that phrase.. if the competition is low then I will go after the EMD. I don't buy into EMD's not working since I know first hand you can get them on to the first page and other members on this forum can verify having done so too.

I'm sure you'll want more specifics but there's plenty of information around here to get that. Part of the journey is your own investment of time, trial and error on the road to experiencing success. I just wanted to provide some info to get you going if you weren't already invested in some of those steps. Hope that helps to stir up some ideas for you.
