There are many techniques you can find here in BHW if you want to rank your site quickly. It just depends on how quick you want it. Personally I don't do ‘quick' because the method usually doesn't last long. But if you are really keen on ranking at the top quickly then you may have to deal with lots of Black hat and Gray hat techniques.
