Hi everyone, I have a quick question.
What are the main factors that make a Reddit post rank well in Google search?
Is it just about the subreddit authority and upvotes, or are there other SEO techniques I should know about?
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Keywords in title ,post body and comments.Comments is most important factor in ranking and also the karma of the accounts that created those comments. It shows Google its an active discussion.

what about back link?

It’s mostly subreddit authority, engagement (upvotes, comments, age of post), and keyword relevance in the title/body, but Google also favors posts with consistent traffic and links, so optimizing for natural clicks + external shares helps a lot.

Subreddit authority and upvotes matter a lot, but timing, comments, keyword-rich titles and engagement also push posts higher. Google favors active threads with relevance and freshness, not just raw subreddit size. Posting in niche, high-trust subs with the right keywords tends to rank best.

Reddit posts tend to rank in Google when they combine subreddit authority with high engagement signals

but keyword relevance, freshness of the discussion, and external backlinks also play a big role.

Reddit posts usually rank because of the authority of the platform itself, but things like strong engagement, relevant keywords in the title, and being in an active subreddit help a lot. You do not really need heavy SEO tricks since Google already favors Reddit, just make sure the post is useful and gets interaction.

Age of the thread matters, Google favors posts that stay active over time.

Reddit posts rank well mainly due to subreddit authority, post engagement (upvotes/comments), and relevant keywords in the title and text. Backlinks and how Google indexes the post also help, but it’s mostly about authority and engagement.

They rank well in Google mainly due to a mix of factors. Subreddit authority matters for example a large and active community helps. Upvotes and engagement signal value to Google. Keywords in the title and comments also play a role, plus internal links from other high traffic pages.

it’s mostly subreddit auth and engagement that push Reddit posts up in Google things like upvotes, comments and how long the thread stays active. Keyword placement in the post title and early traction within the first few hours matter a lot as well.

Drive Engagement (The Most Critical Step)

A Reddit post with zero engagement has zero chance of ranking. Upvotes and, more importantly, comments are powerful signals to both Reddit and Google.

  • Upvotes: Initial upvotes help your post gain visibility on the subreddit, leading to more views and further engagement.

  • Comments (The SEO Goldmine): The comments section is where the magic happens. Every comment adds more relevant, user-generated content to the page. The discussion itself can contain dozens of related keywords and phrases, helping your post rank for a wider range of queries.

  • Reply to Every Comment: When users comment, reply to them. This keeps the conversation going, increases the total amount of content on the page, and signals to the algorithm that this is a lively and valuable discussion.

If you can make the post really successful on reddit with a lot of upvotes and comments, that is likely going to be enough. Posting the link to some other popular and relevant subs might help as well.

It’s mostly about subreddit authority, keywords in the title, and early engagement. If it gets good upvotes fast, Google picks it up quicker.
