Tier one are links pointing directly to your money site.
Tier two points to tier one.
Tier three points to tier two.

No, I just create a bitly or short URL with any service (Goo.gl, Tiny URL, etc) then share it on social network sites.

Once I build the short URL and share it on social networks, I spam them with GSA. Any type of links you want.

1) For easy competition KWs my 2.0s are mostly exact match. Some non - exact match. The more challenging the KW the less main KW targeted my 2.0s are. This is to prevent over optimization. If a KW would require PBN links to rank, my 2.0s are a hyperlink or branded. No strict rule, I mix it up. In general, 2.0s are only exact if they are my power links.

2) GSA is a tool. You can build the links all manually. With GSA you can automate the entire process if you learn the filters and can specify links to build on specific platforms (Such as .edu or .gov links) if you were so inclined. If you do not have GSA, you just build them by hand. Building ten filler links a day is not that much time or work. Spin an article, write blog comments, register accounts, ect. No one on BHW is going to offer a complete SEO service. The closest to what I am describing is one of the 'All in one' services which give you a couple hundred links over a month for $XX +.

3) GSA is the most simple tool on the market. My home PC set up is this:

- GSA Captcha
- GSA
- GSA Indexer
- Good Internet
- Emails

I have used it on a VPN in the past, with a list, with proxies, ect. I build 10K+ links a night while I am working to several projects with no special set up. Maybe $200 total in start up to get this rolling.

As far as time to learn, that depends on you. I have ZERO technical ability to code and do not understand half of what I read about computers. But I learned how to use GSA extremely well after tinkering with it and running campaigns for five days, 20 minutes a day setting them up. After that I could build links to my money site safely, filter any option, and specify what specific types of links I wanted to build. Food for thought.

I would suggest every newbie have this to start with:

1. Do KW Research Yourself
2. Register a Wordpress or Blogger (Free, easy, and if they burn you get another)
3. Buy GSA.
4. Experiment with GSA on the site with your KWs.

Some people shit on GSA for tier one, trust me when I tell you this the program does EVERYTHING but Web 2.0s. It is horrible at 2.0s because you NEED proxies, fresh email, scraped list of working 2.0 sites for GSA and a LOT of processing power to build a couple 2.0s. The program just does not build them well. Other tier one links? Guest Posts, .edu / .gov links, automated profiles, web 2.0 profiles, ect, can be done with GSA.

If you want to have a bad ass SEO Powerhouse set up, I would suggest:

Scrapebox (For lists and footprints)
GSA
GSA Captcha
GSA Indexer
3rd Party Indexer
3rd Party Captcha
1000 + Proxies
Powerful VPN
1000 + Email list

If I offered services on BHW, that is what I would have.

For those doing SEO for themselves, my set up works perfectly well. In two weeks of GSA for ten projects, I have 2K links on the low end, and three projects have 70K links. In total, over 350K links from my home set up. This is all tier two, and one tier three. Most projects have strict filter such as under 100 OBL for links, not posting to same site twice, only a few types of links selected (Do Follow, Articles / Microblogs Only, ect) and GSA is scraping as it goes. Plus, I have a lot more sites and KWs I am ranking than a new IM'er. It works well enough for me with my home set up so it should for you too.

Before you go all out with any investment, start small and learn how to make it work.

This is my round about way of saying, if you want to play ball you need the gear to play. If you are targeting a KW with even one other SEO in the top ten, you need to outwork them and catch up to get position one. Unless you are good at KW research, you will have some competition. Why handicap yourself by not having a tool to help you? $200 for the full GSA pack of indexer, captcha and the software is a steal for what it does. Get a 9 - 5, save up and buy it. It is without a doubt worth it.

In perspective, if you buy a 10K link blast to one page with no filters from a seller, you pay at least $5. If you want filters you need a custom job which gives you far less links for more money. On BHW you will pay $20 for a small contextual tier two and a 10K blast. Myself? One of my projects on a Parasite has 15K Contextual tier two, all Do - Follow, very strict filter and 30K tier three with the only spam being Blog Comments with strict filters. This would cost me a LOT for a custom job. For this single project GSA paid for itself.


I am not a GSA fanboy either. Do not go on their forum. It just does the job well.

I know of three guides on KW research on BHW, use the search function. I gave a guide to rank. Picking a KW is more important and would deserve a longer thread than this JUST for that. I am not going to make I thread I have read many times over from a few great members.

My KW research is still not the best, and I outsource it now to a member, Andres. He does it better than I can. Telling you how to do something I am not an expert in would be stupid on my part. Read all of the KW research threads and if you have a specific question I will answer or find an answer. Or, one of the MANY helpful members will answer you if you have a specific question. The few times I have PM'ed someone they always answered me in a few days if I had a SPECIFIC question and they knew I was trying.

KW Research is where it is at. If you find the right KWs you can rank by blindly throwing money around. If not, you will get no where. The easier your KWs, the worse you can be at SEO and still make money.

I used to use indexers back in the day. Now I spam them. For profiles I send thousands of links to the property.

For Blog Comments, they should get crawled if you comment on active sites.

For Web 2.0 I do two things:

1. Spam them with a few hundred links
2. Build 301 URL Shorteners to them and spam those.

That does the trick.

UPDATE:

So it is 2016. I have answered most questions posted here and most I get in PM about this thread. I commented on the previous page my personal list of 200 + Profile Links you can use. That list has the benefits of:

1. They will get indexed
2. They handle SPAM
3. The have lasted me 1 Year +

Those are the 'best'. You assume some drops after time with any link type, but I posted the ones which stick more often than not.

After I posted a micro update last page, I got more questions, about some topics I did NOT cover in this thread. Such as anchor text (Specifically not addressed), Web 2.0s I prefer, when to use PBN or stronger links, how long it takes to rank (Big in 2016), and I keep getting PMs about the mythical 'sandbox' so I want to address all of these questions now.


1. Anchor Text - The Real DIVERSITY you Need


Most people get this wrong. When you need diversity you do not need:

Microblogs
Forum Signature Links
Blog Comments
Directory Links
AKA SPAM

I play the Game of looking 'Natural'. Does that help you rank? No. What does help you rank is proper anchor ratios.

Any guide you read on 'Anchor Text Ratios' are educated guesses. In one niche I can get away with 40% exact match (Super easy niches) and others require less then 3% exact match anchors.

You can get away with a LOT more than you think. But one thing you need to remember is this:

"It is easier to add more exact match anchors than dilute anchors later."

I still do this until this day. How do I determine my anchor percentages? The back link profiles of my competition. In general I see less than 5% exact match in most niches, a large volume of Brand anchor text (Such as 'BHW' or 'Black Hat World' as anchor text for a page on this site) and naked url such as 'www.blackhatworld.com/xyz/1234'

I also see a low percentage of Generic anchor text such as 'Click here' or 'Visit us'. They are normally less than 20%.

To put this into perspective, for most niches, I would start with 20 links.

1 - My Exact Keyword. (5%)
8 - Brand KW (40%)
8 - Naked URL (40%)
3 - LSI KW (15%)

This is an example. Sure, you may want some 'click here' or other anchor text. But I find most real sites have a very small amount of those anchors.

You start with a base link building plan. You make an estimate of how many links you need to rank. You figure this out by competition analysis or how the top ten sites in your niche are ranking. They you make a plan for how many links you will build or buy. You then apply the anchor text ratios for your niche to those links. That is all you need to do. Find out how the best site is ranking, mimic there ratio and number of links, and just use better links. For the cruddy blog comments you replace them with good Web 2.0s. For the Guest Posts the site has, you get superior PBN links. You replicate it and beat them. It is not that difficult.

I am getting off course. You can always add another exact match anchor later on. But if you start with a 50% ratio you need to then scramble to add dozens of links to bring the ratio down. This is as stupid as stupid gets. Start slow and ramp up as needed. Damage control is always costly.


2. Web 2.0s I prefer ...

What Web 2.0s do I prefer? Ones that stick. I have build Web 2.0s myself using tools like Autofill Magic (Great tool sold on BHW) or purchased Web 2.0s only to have them go down.

Common reasons Web 2.0s go down:

1. You spam them
2. No logged in after XX Days
3. IP
4. Email used to register
5. Poor Content
6. Blog Reported
7. Etc

I could name dozens of reasons why your Web 2.0 will be taken down. I do use preventive measures such as:

1. Unique IP for each Web on a specific platform
2. Unique Email for each Web 2.0 on a specific platform
3. Filter Spam through 301 URL Shorteners
4. Log in monthly
5. Spun and Readable Content
6. Age them before placing links

Those usually prevent most Web 2.0s from going down. But that does not always do the trick.

So.. my list of preferred Web 2.0s comes down to the Web 2.0s which stick. I decided to start a split test over one year ago to see which Web 2.0s would stick the longest. I got a list of the 50 most common Web 2.0s and kept checking on them. Til today, using the Web 2.0s for different sites, different KWs, some blasted with spam, and a litany of other filters, here is my short list of Web 2.0s which last the longest:

Those in quote are pulled from one of my excel sheets. They all have:

1. Lasted 1 + Year
2. Handed Spam
3. Handled Not Logging In
4. Handled 301 URL Shorteners

They fit my bill for the easiest to use with the longest shelf life. I would suggest you start with that list. You should diversify and use other referring Web 2.0 domains, but many have gone down fast for me, so I can't recommend.


3. When to use real 'Power Links'


When should you use a PBN, SAPE or Guest Posting? When your competition demands it. SEO now requires a PBN to take on anything above 'Very Easy'.

Google has 200 + Ranking Factors. Links have a substantial role, but is nor everything. Links are stronger as they age. Websites are stronger as they age. Social signals 'may' play a role. Registration date plays a role. Words of content play a role. Websites last update plays a role. How long domain is registered for plays a role. On - Page is huge.

With all of these ranking factors, you should know one fact, You can just duplicate and expect to rank. Even if you build the exact links your competition has, there links are more aged are are superior so you lose.

Unless you plan to build a LOT more good links, you simply will not beat out some sites with the 'free' options. That is when it is time to move onto SAPE, PBN or Guest Posting.

After a while you will get a feel for what is required. If the top ten has no real competition, not even targeting the KW, you should be able to rank without a PBN and just great on page and a lot of hard work. But once you are up against another SEO or a large site directly targeting your KW, you need to be ready to use more powerful links or pick a new niche.


4. How long does it take to rank?

To be honest... AGES.

For even super low comp KWs you can assume a month or two as a newbie. Medium comp? Six months. Hard? A year even if you are decent at SEO. Some niches take longer. Some are quicker.

I am amazed how long SEO takes now. December showed me a down turn in how quickly things ranked. Google kept making things slower and slower until now, I can't rank a high comp niche in less than a year if my life depended on it. Where do I get the year figure?

I throw some super powerful exclusive PBN links from my own network and my KW does not budge for several weeks. If it moves before my KW pop's back. I have tried my own network, other networks, public networks, private networks, SAPE, Guest Posts, everything I could think of. It takes ages for a link to show its full 'value'.

Maybe some other SEO can prove me wrong. But when it takes a full month for a PBN link to show me some good results, I either spam 300 + PBN links to may page or site day one and hope in a month it is enough to rank (Huge cost to do this) or I play it slow, build a few links as I should and I get to the magic number after months.

This is less of me saying I suck at SEO and more of me saying, high comp niches require time and investment, plus experience. Every KW takes longer to rank now. If you are not in IM or SEO for the long term, you want to find something else or go with Churn and Burn or Parasites. As this type of ranking guide will take time.

5. But..but..Sandbox!


Fact or Fiction? Or Google Propaganda?

The truth is Propaganda. Does Google have anti - spam and link devalue filters? Yes. Can you rank before you hit the '90 day' magic number? Absolutely. Send enough powerful links at your site and you can rank.

Is it harder now than before to rank fast? You betcha. Can you rank a very hard KW in 90 days? I can't without putting way too much into a KW.

Does Sandbox exist? No. It is propaganda. Does it take a while for your link to show its true power? Yes. Several weeks.

So what does this tell you? Start your off page SEO day one. You will not see results until month two. Think about that. No results for one month. This is not a sandbox. This is the algo. Now, if your KW is no where after 90 days that is not a sandbox, but rather you did not build enough links or waited too long to start building links.
