How to Rank - A Quick Guide for Newbies

This forum has all you need without paying. Just keep reading and testing until it all clicks.

Great post.. happy i bumped on it.. im a newbie and gonna start and try very soon in IM.
Just a quick question.. Is GSA safe for making a niche site rank? for example an amazon niche site?

It is safe if you use it well.

Any tool depends on whom is using it. You only learn by trying.

I decided to make a journey how to make a stable SEO Business / Network to rank a lot of sites or a lot of clients sites. It is a little project that will mimic exactly what I did to start ranking sites and will cover everything I can think of.

It will be a multi month long process to go from Zero to 360 in SEO with just hard work. I even go over how to get start up funds (Which I do with you in the journey so I magically do not get $X,XXX or Investors to buy everything). It will be something great (I hope) for the community.

Hi, Thank you very much for this article. I'll definitely refer to it for my journey thread. It's rare to find a complete guide with a step-by-step methodology, especially in SEO.

I have one small question although. When you talk about aging Web 2 site with a "filler" article. Do you get quality content for this article? is it different for every Web 2 properties?

Thanks again !

I scrape and spin articles from the web. I try to use a 'different' article for each Web 2.0 if possible but for the most part I just make sure it is a good article and I spin it, then manually edit it.

Glad everyone enjoys this guide. Do not forget the important part, taking action.

Thanks for the guide. Just starting to build links. Say for an easy keyword where most of the sites in the top ten have under 5 links.. I'm building 5-10 web 2.0's with 3-4 pages of content.

But, It's been 3 weeks since I"ve done some tests and nothing is moving :(

Does it take longer than that to see results from NEW web 2.0 links?

I'm really stuck on this.

Either the KW is higher competition than you think or those Web 2.0s are not indexed.

Build some tier two to the Web 2.0s. I would say some Social Bookmarks to make sure the 2.0s are indexed.

Can GSA search engine ranker build social bookmarks? If it can't, would using GSA to build backlinks to your web 2.0s cause them to become indexed and thus ranking your money site? I plan to make 10 web 2.0s by using free bloggers and writing 2-3 posts for each blog, linking to my money site. And then using GSA to build tons of backlinks to those 10 blogs. Do you think this is sufficient enough to rank an easy to moderate key word?

Thanks for the guide and effort you put into making it btw

Build a smaller tier two of contextual links in GSA. If those links do not get indexed, send some comments and Social Bookmarks.

Yes GSA builds social bookmarks. They are like pings on highly crawled domains. They do the trick to get things indexed.

Let's say I have 5 keywords, all low keyword competition. All related to "widgets" (how to build blue widgets/where to get red widgets/yellow widget marketplace). I build 20 web 2.0s. Should I do 1 Keyword = 1 web 2.0 (as far as anchor text goes), with the rest naked anchor/brand name/generic? Or what? How do I ensure I rank for all the keywords?

Your tier one articles should be about the KW you want to rank, and google is smart enough to figure out what you are targeting. Make sure the title of your article and H1 / H2 tags in the tier one property are about the KW you want your money site to rank for.

When in doubt go for naked URL and do not over think this.

Alright. I've been trying out with sending some BHW services direct to money site and I'm seeing borderline no movement. Going to change up strategy and send the services to Web 2.0. Do you think that the same services through my Web 2.0s would be more effective, or would the problem be the services themselves?

That is a loaded question...

Some services work well on BHW, others do not. If you are not sure what you are buying, stay away from services and learn to do it yourself first. Then you will know what exactly you are buying.

What I'm asking is if you think its possible a service will work better through a Web 2.0 buffer than direct to money site.
