How to raise Alexa Rank?

Sup All?,

I would like to get my Alexa ranking up. It's floating at about 1 million right now and has gone as low as 960k. How can I get that ranking lower? I have a competitor that is at 330k and he is gloating a bit....I want to knock his sack in the dirt.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

one fast way you can get the ranking to lower is just go out and buy traffic and send to your site.

Just cause you have a lower alexa ranking doesnt mean you will make more money.
 
alex rating is worthless...focus on 1st place search results
 
Unless you are planning on selling the site, where some dumb buyers look at Alexa, then there isn't any point to raising Alexa.

The best way to raise Alexa would to buy junk traffic, but even that's not guaranteed as a majority of Alexa's data comes from toolbar installs. Its why you see websites that are in the Internet Marketing space have low Alexa scores, and other sites that don't.

I have a site that gets roughly ~2k daily uniques. It has a higher(worse) Alexa score then some of my IM related sites that receive ~25-50 visits a day. If that doesn't prove that Alexa is shit, then I don't know what will.
 
alexa rank is a big bull, you can simply create artificial boost but the problem is that it will drop as soon as you stop the traffic.

TBH, 300k Alexa is not something you can rely on, anything above 50k is not accurate...
 
Alexa is now important for publishers because advertiser thinks about Alexa ranking and than buy your ads space, specially on blog network.
 
just send traffic from anywhere on your website or go to fiverr buy a gig from someone who can send 10k visitors on your site
 
Personally, I don't focus much on an Alexa ranking. I consider a 1st page on Google rating or a nice PR more valuable.

Yes, this is the only part alexa ranking has a value. There are still many advertiser that care about alexa ranking , i think it's stupid.
 
Alexa is not really that worthless... I mean it's good for the data, but it won't make you any money obviously.
 
Post content for webmasters, like bhw is doing - it has 500 alexa rank but it doesn't mean that it actually get so many visitors, its just that the visitors have alexa toolbar installed.
For example my adult forum with 14000 visitors daily have same alexa rank as my seo blog with 220 visitors per day.
 
300k is not even that good of an Alexa ranking, I don't know what he's gloating about. Shitty sites of mine that only have 500 visitors/day have better Alexa rankings than that.

Anything above 100,000 isn't to be taken seriously anyways. It is probably a low traffic site, and as a result Alexa doesn't have enough info to make an accurate ranking.

But if you absolutely insist on inflating your Alexa ranking, install the toolbar yourself and/or buy cheap traffic.
 
Yup, Alexa ranking was worthless, I have 2 blogs with alexa widget installed. One blog had daily 100+ visitors but alexa shows no data means higher than 1 milln, the other blog had 30+ visitors daily and it has showing a good ranking.
 
Super duper crappy AMR spam directory sites get really low alexa because of all the webmasters visiting their site (with an abnormally high amount of alexa toolbars installed). Stick an AMR subdirectory on your domain and your alexa would beat theirs quick.

Then post the URL to your directory here so we can all start spamming it :p

Depends on the niche. You got a crappy super low converting niche like an AMR directory, celebrities, warez, tube porn ... a very low alexa doesn't mean a thing.

But if its a catalog affiliate site that ranks for buying keyword terms, a 1 mil alexa could easily make 100x the money that lower alexa ranking sites make.
 
Huge Traffic, thats it.

After Alexa changed its algo, its hard to fake it.
 
I'd suggest buying a gig from fiver or something to send traffic.
 
I agree with NoirHat alex rating is worthless!
 
there is a way. it will cost like 10,000 visitors for $49.00 or you can do trafficexchange for free
