So I have been doing local SEO for clients for awhile now. I am trying to figure out how to structure a plan, most local clients pay between 300-600 a month. I basically am working on breaking it down, for example.

    Monthly:
    75 Local Citations
4 Web 2.0 or Guest Blog Posts
    Social Signals
    Press Release (sbwire unlimited)
    Niche / Misc Links

These are all the links I see other local businesses doing. Most the competition in my clients markets don't really have a lot of links, so I figure quality over quantity. What approach are you guys taking? I'm open to share ideas.

From my experience, most clients don't care or know what links are anyways. I would suggest on showing them an estimate time frame, the amount of traffic they will get, what their other competitiors are doing, and what they should be doing, why rank this keyword and not that etc.; And most important, the positive impact they will get after their site shows up on page 1 etc.

I agree with that. This is more on the internal side of what is effective planning and pricing for monthly link creation and distribution. From my research these usually make up 90% of what local seo's are doing minus some blog network stuff on the sketchy side. I won't use blog networks on clients though.

It's true that almost all business owners do not care what a link is and are only worried about the bottom line questions. How much is this going to cost me, how long until I get to the first page, and how much more business will I see.

With that being said you still need to break down the service into package options. If you are presenting your services properly then you are going to want to send your client a proposal first then a contract when you meet them in person or speak with them over the phone.

What I would do is just research other companies that offer local seo. It is important to know what others in your industry are offer and for what price. Also another important thing to do is make sure you ask your client the appropriate questions before offering a service so that they know that you are offering them the correct package based on what their needs are and not just trying to sell them the most expensive package you have.

    Definitely agreed! Quality over quantity.
