Hi!

I receive over a dozen press releases every day but don't know the best way to publish them on my blog. There are some blogs, with good traffic, which are publishing the Press Release as it is. However, I am a bit scared of doing the same for the obvious reason of content duplication.

Can someone please guide me to publish such PR's? And also why and how do these other blogs manage to publish the PR word to word and still rank higher in Google?

Thanks!

I use GoogleNewsSubmit.....they are like 10 times cheaper than the other places....pretty crazy distribution as well

Such press releases are send to may blogger and due to this duplication is major issue if we publish them in our blogs. So, if you want to publish these press releases then first check how much line or word are duplicate (just paste para of press releases in google search and get result). Second thing, you should not publish press releases as it is because it is press releases not blog post, so be careful regarding this.

Agree. But what amazes me is that there are blogs which submit press releases as it is and still manage to rank higher :/

This is because those blogs have BACKLINKS. The thing that makes internet SEO go round and round.

I have a PR 4 blog and most of my content is press releases. They are from record labels, movie publicist , like that.

***First and most important change the title. Some, like Digg won't let you add your link if the title is the same.

*If no photo or art is included return it with a request for art!
I have all my publicists trained and they usually send me art of some sort. That way you can add Glee photo, Glee images,Glee CD cover, like that to your keywords.

*I follow all the suggestions from the Easy WP Seo.
The only thing I change in the body is I add headlines h1,h1,h3 where appropriate.

*I think the wp unique plugin helps.

*I have noticed that other people that publish press releases don't follow good Seo rules. Don't treat the press release differently.

*Chose your keywords carefully, be precise, think about what you would put into Google if you were looking for that post.

*You need to get the press release up as soon as possible, follow the regular SEO rules, then send out backlinks.

Oh and read it! Most publicist don't make mistakes, but some have interesting spelling and an occasionally make mistakes.

Hope this helps.
