How to protect your site from DDOS attack?

    How to protect your site from DDOS attack? Somebody suggested to use cloudflare but aside from cloudflare what are other possible solution to block the attack ?

    What does a a ddos cause a drain on the most,besides bandwidth?

    Cloudflare offers a free CDN with some protection. No idea how effective it is though.

    Would about using 2800Mhz ram, with part of it set aside for the actual website in a ramdisk configuration,along with Server OS being located in a ssd raid 0 config?
