Hello,

Can you tell me which plugins or methods you use to protect against hacker attacks on wordpress?
They hack my site yesterday. I think that they used a "brute force" attack. My user name was "admin". It's really stupid to put such a username. :))

Hello, you only need one plugin to protect your wordpress blog from hackers. Thanks to OriginalExe.

I am using wordpress plugin "bulletproof security" .. its work great for me

Thank you :) this Better WP Security is nice one ;)

WP security and Bulletproof security are good plugins. Also search on google to avoid anonymous directory browsing, that will surely do some protection from the hackers.

I use the free Wordfence on all my Blogs .. love the option to lock out access to register for up to 60 days if anyone attempts a specified number of illegal logins.

Limit the access to /wp-login.php and /wp-admin to your IP only by using .htaccess or go ahead and move your site to CloudFlare

Better Wordpress Security is def one of the better ones. I've got this other one called OSE Firewall - does anybody use that? I receive notifications all the time from them, but I'm not sure whether it means it just prevented somebody from hacking in? Cuz of that's the case, it's done a damn good job! LOL

Most WP hacks are from vulnerabilities in themes and especially plugins rather than brute forcing passwords. Keep your plugins up to date and use as few as possible. If you're not using a theme or plugin, delete it from your server - if there's a vulnerability, it can be exploited even if the plugin isn't activated in the WP control panel.

Don't understand why anyone would want to hack wordpress blog dosen't seem like it would generate much traffic
