How to Protect My EBook?

Hey guys n gals, i just finished writing an e book for my niche and want to start selling it but am wondering what you can do to protect your ebook from being shared and downloaded from a million different places. now i know some people will always find a way to download something but are there some basic measures i can take to protect my e book.

ive seen some websites that allow you to create a key or unlock code or something like that, is this the route i should take? any suggestions are appreciated!

You can't, really. Unless you have the budget to partner up with a law firm and send DMCA to the websites sharing your ebook.

I would just register on a bunch of popular warez-sharing forums and make some posts. They usually don't share your stuff if you're a member.

I dont care about actually going after people that rip off my ebook, but am just looking for a way to protect it. is there a service where you can add like a unlock code to your ebook or something like that?

You can add passwords to pdf.

I read Bout someone adding the name address and phone number of each person who placed an order as a footer in the pdf. I don't know how its done tho.

Adding information about buyer to your ebook is great protection method. I think nobody want to share his email, phone number, name.

that is a great idea! is there a way to automatically do this when someone purchases your ebook?

Add a password and dont give it out to anyone(not even to the buyer)

I dont think that helps!If someone wants to share your ebook he can easily convert pdf to word , delete his information and then convert to pdf again and share it with the community he wants!
I think its very hard to protect your ebook!

There is a wp plugin that when someone buy your ebook his paypal payment details like full name, full address was being printed in this way you know who leak your ebook.

Other ways i know is thru hwid protection embedded on the ebook.
The rapid ranking blueprint has this kind of ebook protection.

Other way is put it on the DNS List of every blackhat vip forums.

Other way is encourage members not to leak your ebook that is why there is so called affiliates that exist.

Other way is make sure you put your ebook download location protected. Impossible for people like me to figure out the direct download.
