For free you can share on twitter, reddit, pinterest, instagram, facebook... you can also comment the link of your post in facebook groups, youtube videos and content related to your niche.
In a paid way, you can create ads (FB Ads, Google Ads, Bing Ads, etc) or ask an influencer to promote your content.
You can also use parasites to optimize SEO and increase the chances of your post being visited...

I always wonder about this traffic medium, the thing is you cannot post any links in the sub-reddits. But posting on your profile page does have some SEO effects.

You can, just be more natural.
Try to get involved in convo and try helping people out.
If you comment/help someone, every 5th time is "secure" to post your site.
Reddit is a gold mine if people use it in a right way.

Hadn't seen these mentioned so you could try using quuu and viralcontentbee as well for promotion. I know that with Quuu they will go through your content so you can't just submit low quality thinking it will pass their quality check before they release it for distribution.

Create a checklist
- Publish your content THEN DO THE FOLLOWING
- strip out questions from your blog post and schedule these as TWEETS targeting different hashtags
- modify your header picture to add text and pin this on your PINTEREST PINBOARD (as well as groupboards)
- share your post on niche-targeted sub-reddits you've been participating in
- share your post on niche-focused FB groups you're already active in
- describe your update and send to your mailing list
- strip out key points and create a slide show with voiceover and post to YOUTUBE - make sure to link back to your main blog in your video's description

You should use any social network that you have access to and that allows self-promotion. So, Reddit (probably the best choice), Facebook, and Twitter come to mind.
The option of paid ads is always there, though you probably won’t see any return of investment for a good while if you are just starting out.
