How to promote an Odesk profile?

Hello, I have been working on Odesk since the last two years and now my profile and portfolio on Odesk is definitely impressive. Although I find clients and contracts on Odesk through bidding, I am still wondering if there is any way I could promote my Odesk profile so that I could capture more clients who offer much better rates. Is it a good idea to do backlinking for my Odesk profile? Or may be sending bulk emails to prospects that would direct them towards my Odesk profile.

Actually, Odesk contains my complete portfolio and good feedback of my past clients. So right now I am only focusing on Odesk. I am just looking for an effective way to promote my Odesk profile so that I could be able to grab more clients and better rates on ODesk. Kindly let me know if you have something in mind... Thanks

You can use Adwords or Make a Site with your Portfolio and Odesk link to redirect people to it.

Best bet is to create portfolio site and add all those 'excellent' comments you got from clients in that site (I can help you in creating that site).
Add skills to your oDesk profile and set your profile as 'Public' (if it's not).
