how to optimize social media for my site?

Today I had a meeting with my uncle who owns his own business that brings in a few million annually. He wants it to be a family business so he's trying to get me involved.

Right now I will be working with all social media such as Facebook, linkedin, twitter, the site itself, etc. He already has FB, twitter, linkedin and a pretty solid site as of right now. Basically my job will be to update these sources and try my best to bring in more traffic and hopefully more clients.

My question are as followed:
1. What would be the best way for me to drive traffic to the actual website? Ive seen the competition and their sites are no better than ours except they're ranking on page 1 of google. How can I go about ranking this site higher?
2. What would be the best way to get more people involved in the FB page?
3. He has no instagram, would it be beneficial to make one? If so how can I gain followers?

BTW the business is aviation related. The services sold are very expensive so not something just anybody can go out and pay for out of pocket. I think it would be best for me to target wealthy individuals interested in the aviation niche. I was also thinking of making a youtube page as well.. what do you guys think?

You should probably create a page for every social network for the biz and then try and research and grow them and see which brings the best results.

For seo, you'll probably need on-page seo, articles, guest posts on other large sites.

your questions are so broad, basically you're saying teach me all that i need to know about social media in 2-3 lines of replies, it's not that easy. Yes you can use each social media platform to bring in a lot of traffic, however you need to learn how to do it for each platform separately. It's not something that you can do over night, you need to read a few book on how to use each platform to its fullest potential then start doing it. It will take time and dedication.

to be short,, you need more interactions on your page,, update more posts and interact with the users on regular basis, be active. attract the followers; and as coitza said, you cannot just learn them in this single thread,, all you get it is certain clues ..
