We are using curated content (taken from other news sources) within our news section. When our site visitors click to read a certain news article, it loads the article within an iframe.
The article URL is us, but as said the iframe content belongs to another news source we used for this purpose. Checking for example Google cache, it displays the URL of the other news source and not ours!
My question is how to optimize the newsfeed article URL (= ours) that way so we can rank for different search phrases and therefore increase organic traffic?
I was thinking about the following:
- Adding meta tags (to our newsfeed URL)
- Inner linking on the site to our news article pages
- Creating backlinks (this might not be a good option since it's news and not evergreen content)
- Adding real content outside the iframe on each news article page
I would love to hear your feedback & additional suggestions how to optimize in our situation.
Thanks!!
