How to optimize a page that's not ranking?

Really looking forward to your insight as ever. Tbh, this has been giving me fever dreams for a while.

After doing keyword research, adding internal links, working on the structure, writing the article, and sharing it, what next? :)) I mean, of course, if it doesn't rank.

I'm going through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to new posts ranking consistently highly.

Would you go for adding a few more keywords? More internal links? Restructuring it?

Apologies if the question is a bit vague.

Hard to tell without looking at the site and posts. Could be due to number of factors, niche type, keyword difficulty, intent, allintitle: results just to name a few. Page optimization doesn't necessarily guarantee rankings.
 
Look at the keywords you're targeting in your content. Are they highly competitive? Consider targeting long-tail keywords or less competitive variations that still align with your content's intent.

Thanks. I get what you mean.
Do you do website analysis? Dude, I could def use your expertise and while I don't have any great budget, I would be glad to try and pay you whatever you think is fair.

Open a hire a freelancer thread with a budget and detailed requirement. You may find more experienced and better seo then me.
 
Topical authority is the key. Write more and more related articles on the topic and interlink them.
 
Link building could be something you will need to look into in the future, but right now I would give your webpage some time until it starts ranking.
 
Monitor Your Keywords Placement and Density In the Content, Update Title and Description. Addd Up Some More Informative and Quality Content. Do Well With the Internal Linking and External Link To Other Valuable resources For the Users As Well. and the Final Thing Try To Get Some High Quality Backlinks From Relevant Sites If Possible.


These Things Work Out Well For Me. You Can Also Give a Try.
 
It is difficult to tell why your posts are not ranking without seeing them.

I don't know how did you do keyword research.
Did you find keywords with high volume? Remember such keywords are very tough to rank for. There are already high authority sites ranking for that.

Another important aspect is that you have to build quality links constantly to that piece of content. If you are not building links then you are missing something. Can't emphasize more on this.

If you do not have time or budget to build links then do not expect any significant return from your blogging venture.

Harsh but true.

Hi I am new here and I saw your outreach for help. I am ok myself on reasonably low competition but I also can do ok on harder niched down a bit. I wouldn't mind an experiment with you, I don't know your niche or anything but I am sure my method will work. I do see a lot of techies and the issue i have is well they can be too techy I think simplicity can sometimes be the best course of action. Unfortunately using my various ways although easy not so much BH just a lot of work. let me know if you like or let me know the niche you in. By the way if its health I stay away after spending too long on that niche, you need to be a doctor or fake doctor for that.

I see what you mean!

I chose a variety of main KWs. The first ones I used have lower competition. But, to be honest, I moved gradually toward ones with higher competition.

The funny thing is that for some of the most difficult keywords I have ranked #1 in the past and still rank on the top page. Meanwhile, for some of the lower-hanging fruit, I'm doing nearly nothing. :)))

For example, since it's a music blog, I went for the biggest KW I could find and did a piece on The Beatles. For about 10 days it ranked #1. I thought I'd cracked the code and I'd be moving to Lake Geneva :)))

I also have a relatively established website in this niche. My hope was that I could get a steady 300-500 views per post and just put in the elbow grease by writing a lot of posts. So far, not so good.

As for the backlinks, I understand, and clearly, I need to work there.

I get a good deal of links on social media from some of the musicians/bands that I feature. I'm not sure how much that helps in the grand scheme of things.

And I'm starting to try and network with similar-minded websites.

To be honest, I'll be looking to invest in backlinks as well, but don't have a very large budget I can work with for now.

What about manually adding comments + links on relevant blogs? I know I get spammed a ton of those on my sites.
 
Ok so if you want people to guess what your exact niche is then your doing that right. Maybe being presumptuous but with your name taken I think from a T rex song and your avatar maybe a rock type niche glam rock don't know. If its a Queen related its a mega competitive and anything you do will compete with all the MOZ-indexed sites in the 90s. If you looked at "how did marc bolan die" as an example thats easy and more important the competing sites for anything around this on google are very beatable low MOZ ranking. OF course, this is only guesswork on my part but it also highlights you have to look and think the right way. My main method to rank for ANYTHING though including queen it takes a lot more work but would be doable. I am into music not typically Queen although appreciate Freddie Mercury's vocals which are incredible, personally if your going alone then concentrate on something around the Marc Bolan "how did marc bolan die" etc

Well, actually music reviews, interviews plus evergreen content like listicles (e.g. "Top grunge albums," "Beatles Albums Ranked"). That sort of thing. Focusing on getting the evergreen content to rank. That's the main focus.

Yeah, T-Rex is rad! :) But don't have any articles about them and only one about Queen. :)

The Beatles Albums Ranked how many posts have you done around that keyword? Also generally I would focus on the example Beatles gain some momentum there before going of in all directions the grunge doesn't look that great with a quick look but there is always somewhere to look around most topics.

Do you mean doing a cluster of keywords? Yeah, I've been trying to do that. I generally have at least 4-5 longer articles on a particular topic.
