    I am completely failing to simply post a summary with a read more.
    The whole article always wants to post in whole on my front page. Whats the purpose of a read more button then, haha. :confused:

    How do I limit the characters or something to post only a summary on my front page?

    Thanks in advance guys.

    I'm not sure what theme you're using (and I'm not an expert on coding because of laziness:D) but maybe try this plugin:

    Code:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-excerpt/
    Hopefully someone else can chime in with a better solution.

    I haven't tried the plugin mentioned by Millygirl but it sounds like it will work very well and may have other advantages.

    I use WPRobot also and I'll share what I did in case you need another method: (requires you to manually edit your index.php file in WordPress)

    1 - Save a copy of your file so you can replace it if you mess up.

    2 - From your WP user panel/ftp to your site, edit the index.php file.

    3- Find this code: (May vary slightly based on your template.)

    Code:
    <?php the_content('Read the rest of this entry »'); ?>
    and replace it with:

    Code:
    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>
    and right below this add:

    Code:
    <a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="Read the rest  of <?php the_title(); ?>" class="more-link">Read the rest of  this entry »</a>
    Style it as needed. Here's a link to the site where I got the info from with more information. (Refer to "Method 2".)

    Code:

    You can also look in the WP-Robot options, some of the modules allow you to specify how many words to show as an excerpt.

    It looks like i may be your theme which is causing the issue. I would recomend editing your theme slightly, as mentioned above, to force the theme to only post a summary of the content.

    If you're using the RSS module of WP Robot then you can set that to only post part of the content rather than the full feed.

    Have you seen this thread which may help?

    I believe a combination of the answers already given is the total answer to your question. You have the option in WPRobot to only post and "excerpt". If you choose to copy the entire post to your blog, then the theme installed on your blog is in control of how the content on your site is displayed.

    Most themes will display the entire post. Some give you options like display the full first post and then show excerpts (etc). MillyGirl is correct that there are plugins available that will override your theme and let you display as much or as little of your posts as you want. Check some of them out to see what works best for you.

    I tried this out but the page goes to (permalink?) shows only a summary again. I still want the content to come up for the post page.

    Happy 420 by the way.
