How to obtain competitors expired domain

There is a competitor who has the same name as me but different extension. There website is 30 days expired but not for sale yet. How do I obtain it?

Check the domain status using a WHOIS service to find out the expiration date, registrar, and current status;
Usually, after expiration, the domain goes through several stages: a grace period, then the redemption period, and finally pending delete;
You can place a backorder through specialized services to try to acquire the domain once it becomes available.

It takes more than 75 days for a domain to be back up for sale. 1 month after expiration, it enters redemption period when the owner can still renew it for 30 days, they just need to pay a redemption fee.
After that it will take at least another 15 days before the domain is deleted and becomes publicly available.
