hey guys I just installed a wordpress for a client and Im trying to move it from the "home" folder of thedomain

How would I go about doing this?

When we go directly to his domain it shows up with a "home" folder that users have to click on then it goes to the WP theme etc

    Looking to fix this

Move the files to your site root. Then download the database. In the sql file (open with notepad++ for best result), search for the old url (e.g. yourdomain.com/home ... remember , no http:// or ending slash) and replace with new url (e.g. yourdomain.com again... no ending slash or http://). Delete old database and upload this new sql file. You should now have a working site under your root.

After that, login to your wp admin, go to settings -> permalink and reset the permalink settings. By doing this, your htaccess will get updated automatically.

Remember to backup the database before deleting it or you might lose it :)

Wouldn't it be easier to just redirect the homepage to the /home?

How would I go about doing that ?

Depends on what you want to achieve. How do you want your urls to look like and what is the current structure?

    Home Page:
No redirects required or normally used. This is the generally accepted method of landing in WordPress when WordPress is installed in a sub directory and you want to land in the root.

right now if someone types in the domain it goes to it and you can see the server stats (apache) at the bottom and you can click on the home folder then it loads the WP install

Can't PM since I'm a new member. But I fixed the problem by doing a meta refresh.
