My site is currently in the position # 11 of google SERPs which makes it to appear in the 2nd page.

Can u guys plz. share some tips on how I could make it move atleast 1 spot up so that it appears on the very first page?

Try spewing out a couple articles. That's what I did for a client stuck floating between the bottom of page 1 and top of page 2. Shoved a few more keywords on his page and just 2 articles pushed him up to...let me check...yea, he's at #3 right now.

Find which backlinks your competitor has and try to get backlinks from those sites as well. It could prove very helpfull.:)

Some good high PR backlinks would very likely give you that boost. :)

guys guess what...
Its now showing on the first page (#9 position)
I just commented and promoted my link on the SERPs (while logged into my google account). Not sure if this resulted in the improvement.
thanks and appreciate all your tips though...

Congrats.. Try logging out of Google and redo the search (prevent the personalized search)

If you are still on 11th, then a couple of backlinks will do the trick to boost you up to page 1 :)

you need to build more backlinks that is how i always get my site to rank higher here in india we have workers do it for us and it has worked very well for us

No I did check it separately (non-login mode). Its on #9 on google.com and google.co.uk

Being logged in or out of Google will NOT turn off personalized search. They use an unidentifiable tracking cookie that tracks your searches until you remove it.

You can also use an anonymous proxy service, there are many out there. I've seen different results and the same results for some websites, but you should check it the correct way.

a linkwheel / xrumer blast would help

btw you can use this link for turn off personalized search: javascript:location.href=location.href+'&pws=0';
place it in bookmarks and then just hit it when u already searched on google ;)
