How to Monetize this Blog

My father recently took a 1 year contract job in a different country (China, we are American). He is blogging about his experience with no intention of monetizing, but I think it does have potential for monetization as it is totally unique content written by a professional copywriter. How would you all think is the best way to monetize a blog like this?
