uhm, I've more than 3K friends on a fb account and I'm trying yto understand if i can make some money from them...do you have any ideas?

Depends a bit on your fans, for example if they are targeted or not.

Easiest is to set up micro sites selling digital products or similar and then post an update about the cool site you just discovered and place a link to your micro site. The more targeted the friends are, the easier it is. If you have friends with travel related interests you can post travel deals or vouchers from some affiliate network, just think about what could fit best. Don't over spam your friends or they will be gone quickly. Best is to post things they could somehow have a benefit from.

Yes, you can earn money if you have business friends profile then you have done business deals with them or same way any other categories.

A way of monetizing facebook friends cand be done by creating different status updates for each of your friend lists so that they are only viewed by that specific targeted friends list.

would a fan page with a quality username add value to it?

for example (and i'm not over-exaggerating what I have) if it was a fan page RE: a sport organisation - say ManUtd and they used the same name as I have on their Twitter?

Would it be an idea to approach them and offer them the name?

Do you have a product to endorse or you just want to make money out of the number of friends you have? If you have something to offer, try to filter your friends first like targeted and untargeted. This will help you in your promotion.

Yeah, use them on an ecommerce site or any other site selling a product or service... they make the site look more reputable. As if your facebook friends 'like' your product or service.
