How to Monetize an Anime Site?

So I'm helping this guy out that's new at IM and he can't seem to get any money going. He is getting most of his traffic from Malaysia and Indonesia. He's getting most his traffic from seo, nothing shady. But he got banned twice from adsense, he tried cpa but he said the offers aren't for malaysian and indo traffic. He tried cpm but only got 5 cents for 3k pageviews. I'm trying to help the guy out just not sure what's a good option.

He said he gets close to 3k visitors a day, so there has to be something he can do. He doesn't want to content lock the site cuz Anime kids will just go to another site.

Any help for this guy?

Adsense payouts are shit for anime keywords anyways. Give J-List and J-Box a try, they have a decent affiliate program that converts anime traffic. Figurines, BR/DVDs, manga, magazines, VNs, games, and other Japanese cultural products. Want to order a flat of Morning Rescue? They got it! I'm not sure how they will convert or if they can convert traffic from those regions though.

Is he streaming shows? Providing downloads? Or is he running a legitimate site? Might want to try so content lockers/CPA gateways, or something like adfly on download links.

thank you i just applied to j plist they should approve me. i get about 15-20k pagevieews a day or more sometimes even 40k. I wish i can get into those site skin networks like the other anime sites but they wont accept me even though i have more than 350k pageviews a month easy

Are you doing streaming/download sites, or something more legit? Crunchyroll has an affiliate program too if you're doing a more legit fansite/news type thing. I doubt you'd get many signups though if you're offering the shows for free :)
 
There's this malaysian/singaporean/indonesian social media CPC company called churp churp. If your friend has a twitter account connected to his site he should check that one out.

They pay a commission on sales. You are going to sell absolutely zero memberships to them on a pirate site though.
 
better yet try Nuffnang. it is the "adsense" of southeast asia. :)
 
There's also Play Asia which has an affiliate program. Dead easy to get accepted.

If he's got traffic, just experiment with different offers. Anime crowd might like video games, so try some game offers. Maybe computer or hardware offers.

Rotate ads to see what works.

Hey how's the anime website going for you?

I've been working on my own anime website but I have been doing it so inefficiently. Do you think I could get some help since you have experience running your own anime streaming website?
