How to monetize a Social Network

I'm stumbled upon an amazing social network that has yet to be saturated with marketers. The only "fakes" on the site literally are people who are insecure and try to be someone else. I used this site over the summer for band promotion with major success for popularity, but have yet to try and monetize it for making money. There are no filters, caps, time delays, or captcha for adding friends. The spam filter for messages is set at 30 seconds. There is a filter for links in messages, however sites can be listed in the user's sig without throwing up flags (least for myspace and fb). Over the weekend I made two profiles and put a bit.ly link in the display pics. I had not filled out the profiles or anything, only uploaded the pics with the links and got 30 hits on my link just signing up without any interaction with other users and at a slow time of the day. And I know that with interaction with users, many of clicked on the band link I had in my sig.

My question is what would be the best way to monetize this? Multiple accounts is not an issue. They track IPs, but I have a variable IP from my ISP. An autoresponder has not been made for this site, and I lack the knowledge currently to make up a marco or scrip for it. I'm not sure a CPA add would work because I know conversions would be extremely low. It seems to be a large amount of horny men on the site, so I was thinking something in the advertising for adult sites, but per signup would be hard because the users are from all around the world. Any help would be great! I'm not looking for someone to spoon feed me, but a general idea would help me and I can spend more time researching the idea.

CPA, but offer them something free for doing it. Like "The 7 biggest mistakes men make when picking up women," or "how to find hot, single girl locally," just a free e-book or plr article. Should help boost the conversion. Just make sure it caters to single horny men.

how about adding.. a blog to your hot girls profile.. say (check out my blog) and then just make the blog just plain and girly, nothing flashy, throw some adsense on there for or dating site banners. something of that nature. rinse and repeat

thank you both for the input. I'm working on my blogs now. Still new to this side of IM, so its a learning experience. I'll be sure to play around with that and surveys. If you have any good referrals for paid surveys, that would help out alot. And Cyrus, I'm pretty sure its not yours. It has nothing to do with dating specifically. But I am trying to be careful enough not to make them change their spam policies. Since its not saturated, I want to dominate and monetize it without ruining any future profits from it

You could always go the e-whoring route. Find a free laptop promotion CPA, then give them the "Hey, my laptop broke and I can't afford a new one, and I REALLY need it for school, so I'm trying to win one. If you help me get this one, maybe I'll help you too " type deal. Get them to fill out the form, and tell them to get their friends to sign up under your link too. Then send them some raunchy pics of "yourself".

If you have 100 friends, and you convince half of them to fill out your CPA, $3/signup, that's $150 just by writing a status and sending a few canned messages. You could even follow up on those poor suckers by telling them you have a profile on Singlesnet and they should find you there so you can chat more. Singlesnet pays GREAT, minimum $4.50/free signup. If you get those same 50 guys to sign up to Singlesnet, that brings your total up to $375.

So yeah, not a huge amount of money, and it would be difficult to repeat, but those are some ideas to get the ball rolling. Maybe some of this will jump-start your brain on some repeatable methods (that hopefully you won't mind sharing, since we don't know your site ).

By the way, not saying that this is your site (I hope it isn't; if it is, PM me and I'll edit this post) but from what I understand, IMVU is a pretty similar market. Not a whole lot of advertisers, lots of horny guys and dumb teens. If anyone wants to apply this thread's content to a fairly virgin market, go to IMVU.
