Have a friend who has a big Pinterest account with 42k+ followers. She has a few group boards that have dozens of pinners. How would you recommend monetizing such an account?

Just search around the forum. There are a ton of ways , adsense , amazon and a few other i wouldn't want to reveal :) just type pinterest in the search .

Amazon, CJ, clickbank, adsence, many CPA aff etc.
I think you need test separately to find the best profitable projects.

Good luck. :captain:

The IM Journey section of this forum has some threads using Pinterest with Amazon and/or Adsense. Start reading.

Anything related to female will sale ... there are many other fashion related affiliates that give even 30 - 60 days cookies.

Pm me, I've got an affiliate program up and running for my fashion jewellery business, I'm paying 20% commission. An affiliate site/url will be automatically generated for each affiliate. So all she needs to do is pin my product pics and change the source url to her affiliate url. Cookies will last indefinitely, until they are manually/automatically cleared by the user.

I would suggest utilizing the power of those followers to gain more, while simultaneously making 10-15% of her pins/re-pins links to a monetized website or blog.

More followers = more interest in pins = more site traffic = more profit

Notice that the key word here is more. Keep building!!!

Think about it like this: if 10% of her pins link back to a site, it's right at the sweet-spot where it's noticeable to her followers, but it's natural and not spammy.
That's how you get visitors, and since Pinterest users are 40% more likely to spend money, say hello to one FAT paycheck from Azon, Adsense, or whatever program she subscribes to for monetization.

If she has 42k, you better bet that she'd see some serious cash-flow. :P
