So I'm the admin of a 14k members community on live j ou r nal on a very targeted niche.. it's PR3.

How would you monetize it?

I'm not sure I can change the layout and add ads in it. Should I just start offering amaazon or CB products with the aff link?

just to mention, the community is VERY active, and it's been created 10 years ago.

It's run on autopilot. believe it or not, i totally forgot about it for 2-3 years.. and it's amazingly successful and popular in LJ.

I'd appreciate any tips.

I would first try to get their emails or attempt to give them coupon leads or freebies. Just think 14k (users) * 3% (conversion) * $1.6 (per lead)= $672 for nothing hard. Try freebies or if they are complaining about something offer a cpa product or lead for that.

Let me know what you come up with Im currently looking to do the same with an old site of mine with 5k niche members

Find a common problem for the users, create (outsource? plr?) an e-book that offers a solution to the problem, offer it at a 'discounted' price just for users, make $$$.

I cant find a problem. Its a hobby niche. Perhaps the best way to monetize is to offer deals of stuff they can buy.

Ebooks would be a problem too cause all the info they need is in the forum itself.

If it's like most hobby niches, it requires specialized equipment to do properly (can't say for sure, but all of my hobbies do). Get some Clickbank, some Amazon, maybe some Ebay links in there, and they will buy.

how often should I put some recommendation to some product in there?

how often is considered normal, so they don't start getting annoyed?
