People talk about 10 to 12k unique visitors a day like it's shit.

That's actually worth gold. You can make much more than $ 40 a day.

I gotta subscribe to @bartosimpsonio answer . 10k visitors a day is not little. Using a premium ad network like Adsense / Taboola will be your best bet in the long run. Article locking and such can bring you only temporary earns..but it will sure piss off your visitors. Good Luck !!!

You must have spent a lot of time to nurture this particular website and I agree with your idea with adsense. That surely will get you a decent volume but along with that I'd say you should join Amazon too. You'd earn good commission considering you have a section for smartphones too. Along with this you can join referral programs from Travel Portals to make a few more bucks for every booked Ticket. I have seen people doing that.

You can generate much more than that. If its unique traffic that actually converts. You should be able to do $100-500 after what you do. CPC To CPA to PPC.

I know it's an old topic, but maybe somebody starting out will find this information useful.
In addition to banner ads, you could also monetize your search bar (that should bring you AT LEAST 10$ per 1000 searches) and affiliate links linking to different products.
