How to monetise subreddit with 8k members?

Hi all. I own a subreddit with almost 8k members. Before I took it over, posting was restricted to only moderators and the sub only served as a redirect to a larger one.

I know how to encourage posting and grow the subreddit via crossposting etc, but I need some information/ideas as to how I can monetize the traffic to the page. There also isn't really any niche to speak of, so I'm assuming affiliate marketing would be difficult but I'm open to all ideas.

Thanks

Note: I'm not going to share the name of the subreddit.

I don't know, how can I find out? What I do know is that the page also gets a lot of traffic from users looking for the larger subreddit that my sub served as a redirect to.

It really depends on the niche! I've seen an adult niche with hundreds of thousands of subscribers, and they're hardly making money.

But for other niches - I noticed they would put affiliate as a pinned Reddit post/announcement and sidebars.

Good luck!

Maybe you can create a website related to the niche and put ads in it , other way is to use cpa marketing.

Bumping the thread to see if anyone has anything new to add in response to the extra information I've given.

Only questions being asked in your subreddit?

How about making making specific days where users can ask questions about certain things... That way you have a more focused group of people daily. Which you can cater day specific offers.

8K doesn't seem like much.... BUT you can still make money if:

Your subscribers have blogs or social media influence
Your sub-reddit is very active

How do you monetize a sub-reddit?

Paid content placement
Paid promoter access
Shoutouts for brand endorsements
"Case studies'

Users ask and answer questions on any topic of their choosing, so there isn't really a niche as such to market to.
If the traffic untargeted then quizzes with cpm ads are your best bet. Although an 8k sub won't send much traffic in your way, so expect low earnings. If you are dedicated then try to build a list and segment the shit out of it then you can promote aff offers.

What niche is the subreddit in? Look on Clickbank for related offers. CB Engine can be a good source of products as well. Pin that post.

Even market said post by paying for Reddit traffic if needed.

Just check in ahrefs what are top pages of your subreddit (highest traffic) and post affiliate links in comments (related to post niche)

Check your traffic stats

Take a screenshot of all stats and share them here.

I guess it's one of those older subreddits where there were not so many actions and people forgot about it and there is no so much traffic but anyway, everything can be fixed...
I was bringing dead subs with 10k followers in life a lot of the time, it needs some time to be invested but the results are good if people know what and how to do it.

Placing ads, redirecting to a new website and creating an email list with targeted ads can be done to monetize it.
