How to Manipulate ahrefs DR/UR

Hello everyone,

I am looking for methods or tricks to manipulate Ahrefs / SEMrush DR / UR. I’m curious to test them. I know it will not help my rankings these are just tool metrics, not Google’s.

Any guidance or methods would be appreciated. I searched this forum but didn’t find any good methods.

Earlier people used to create a ton of good for nothing redirect backlinks. SEO tools like Ahrefs just use flat metrics that translate authority x quantity into rating. So, you get the benefits of having a lot of pages on authority sites while they won't help you with Google rankings.

I’m interested in this topic, but not looking to game the tools. If anyone has safe/ethical experiments or real case studies showing how DR/UR react to legitimate backlink changes (guest posts, PR links, link reclamation, internal linking), I’d love to collaborate or see results. Also curious how much these metrics actually correlate with organic traffic. I can run tests on a staging site and share findings.

I did this using redirected Google links. You can use them too. Replace suffix with your domain and force index the links
