I live in a small town where a company called frontier has a monopoly on the cable/phone/internet it's the only product you are able to use. Well there highest internet speed (dsl) is only about 3 mbps (even though it says "up to 6 mbps") anyway there is a project I am working on right now and I need to talk to potential customers via five9 (it's like skype but you can use it to take orders and such) and because my internet is a little to slow I'm having problems with my headset cutting out and I'm losing customers.

Basically what I'm asking is that because I already have the fastest internet package available is there a product you can buy that will make the internet faster?

Also five9 won't work with satellite or a wireless usb internet

Thanks

Well, in my place, it says 3.6mbps and all you get is 384kbps. :)

Hope that helps..

There's no magic way to make your internet go faster. You can use something like OpenDNS but it won't increase the speed of your voice chat.

Have you looked into 4G internet?

I'd see what your cell provider can give you - probably more expensive for unlimited data but its possible you can get a faster connection. And screw satellite, it'll be slower and more expensive.

I am using Frontier and they are terrible. I have had the same problem several times this year with the internet completely cutting out and they do nothing about it even when I call in.

If you use firefox there are some plugins that can help with page handling and loading like fasterfox lite, and tweak network. Other than that I'm not sure.

Good luck...

Not really sure about DSL, but I was looking into getting sneaky with my cable.

I found a place called sbhacker (google it) and stumbled into the industry of hacking modems. Within a week of purchasing a hacked modem, my ISP implemented new security methods that no one has apparently hacked yet.... even months later.

I was excited as hell... and then I never got to experience it :(

I guess it is high time of the scientists to think more about it as almost all the people are facing the same problem of slow net connection.
It really heats up my head during software automation.:(

Thanks for the post as it reminded me that its high time for me as well to change my internet connection.:D

Can barely get a signal to send a text even on 4G where I live so I doubt the internet would be any better and the program I am using doesn't allow wireless connections thanks though
