How to make Web-Browser from Toolbar in Visual Studio use Fox ir Chrome

    Hello , today i discovered a problem. When i try to use Webbrowser from a Visual Studio Tool box it simulate IE browser. But i definitely need Chr0me or Fox.

    Is there any posible solution for this problem?

    For firefox have a look at xulrunner. It's well documented on the mozilla developer section of their website.

    For chrome, I guess there's not "direct" way. You need to use the webkit rendering engine that's the core of chrome (safari and many other browsers). If you look into the qt toolkit (free), for instance, you'll be able to use the webkit component. It's not "chrome" but it's the same rendering engine (I believe they do have their own js solution and not the v8 js JIT, but still)

    I like to use HtmlUnit converted from Java to run on .net. It's headless making it faster than the normal browser control, supports JavaScript, proxies and you can set it to run as FireFox too.

    xulrunner is buggy and bloated, dont break your head and waste your time with it. If you are looking to do some serious browser automation and want to tackle complex ajax scripts and js then do some digging on Selenium, Google has recently committed some resources to that project and it is a very mature project and heading good.

    I think xulrunner would be just fine to me , so if anyone know how to install it and use please don't hesistate to post

    selenium rc is something I really love, many languages and good docs

    freepeeg i will tell you that you can better to update your IE might be your explorer may be old one and try IE8 or IE9
