As the title implies. I need to get a stop motion short film done for a project and I'm a bit lost on how to do it. Are there any affordable services for this? I'd rather do it myself, but it there's a service that could save up time, I may go for it.

Any feedback would be appreciated (also, feel free to explain as If I was a 6 year old...)

thanks!

Hey this reminds me of when I used to do stop motion about a decade ago with my friend. We used a static camera which was set to take pictures every 5 seconds or so and used the window of time to manipulate the scene. We would then take the frames and add them into a video making program, sony vegas for example, and put then together at around 10-20 frames per second depending on how industrious we felt that day.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

The easiest way, grab a cell phone camera, create some character dummy that to be filmed, start vdo recording, move the dummy at a 5 sec interval, after all moves complete save the movie, input the vdo into a editor, put some voice, music and you are done.

Thank you for the feedback mates! I actually ended up getting a film student intern to help me out > D (hassle free way) . It's nearly done. If I'm able to, I'll try to post a link here (once it's done) so you can check it if you wish :)

I did something similar a few years back. I took about a million pictures, made them into a .GIF, converted it to .AVI, and edited it in Movie Maker.

It was time consuming, but hey, if you really want to do stop-motion...
