How to make replies show up and avoid ghosting

I have some new accounts but the replies do not show up when I reply to other people's tweets. Is there any way to to make the tweets not be ghosted. Do the accounts have to be a certain age or have enough followers.

I want to know this too. My direct reply to a tweet never appears, yet all further replies to that direct reply do appear. So it looks as if all my further replies are just replying to the OP, rather than the direct reply. Really frustrating, it seems it may have something to do with posting a reply with a gif or image, but I'm not sure. Also not sure if this is a bug or twitter's algorithm is intentionally screening for something.
