So I was thinking of getting into buying domains for small business' that aren't tech-savvy - essentially acting as a domain reseller I guess.
The USP here would be I'm convincing these small and medium business' (SMEs) to buy domains at 5-10 years at a time.
I'm just trying to get it straight in my own head - but what should I be watching out for? How do I transfer ownership of a domain to someone - or is there a better way to organise things?
For sake of example - I buy the rights to http://www.obamasbikes.com for 10 years from GoDaddy. I invoice the owner of the physical store 'Obamas Bikes' for the cost of the domain plus a little something for myself.
How can I 'give' the domain to Obama as I'm unlikely to still be messing around with domains 10 years from now.

    Hi icinine,

Selling domains to small-medium businesses is a good idea. One thing to mention is to be careful with trademark violations, so don't take domains that big brands would have the right too. You then can list your domains at various marketplaces like Flippa, Sedo, Godaddy etc. for sale.

If you sell your domain, the buyer will pay the marketplace, usually via paypal or bank. You will then be given instructions to push the domain (to their account at same registrar) or to transfer it out to their choice of registrar. You will then receive payment (again this varies, can be paypal, bank, escrow, bitcoin etc.)

The process varies depeding on where you register your domains. I suggest Namesilo, Dynadot, Uniregistry & Namecheap.

Best of luck in your ventures :)
