I will make this quick.
Is their any way to just install something and have it always running on your VPS and make a little money.

Yes, there are programs that help you run processes which you determine, which may or may not accomplish something that will make you $.

No, leaving something somewhere on its own making money by itself is not really a project. YOU gotta be the brains behind what that something does. Confusing as it sounds, hope this helps.
 
make it gaming server or rent a part of your vps to your friend
 
yes, there are lots of ways to generate money, but the question is would they be enough for you?

If it were that easy we all would be getting tons of VPSes, and all day doing nothing but going to the bank to collect cash :)
 
Most automated methods wont cover the cost of the VPS

Most people use them to run their bots,
So if you can find a bot that does services in demand
You can make good money
 
Yes: run something on server such as making it a gaming server, polling server
No: Or rent it to your friend.
 
Yeah there is a software that you can let run on your VPS and it will make you earn $10 per day. The more VPS you have, the more money you will earn. BUT rather than doing that, we, people, prefer to work because we are dumb. Go try the software. The name of the software is FreeMoneyForAll. Google it.. If you can't find it just PM me

Oh yeah i am recalled, that software is called Moneymaker6000 remember? there was a thread about people running it, can't remember it.

YES! Leaving something called bitcoin miner will surely make you money but you have to invest tens of thousands of $ into machines and special internet connection to mine reasonable amount of money. I heard from a friend that one guy invested 20,000$ in computers and stuff but then he mined about 50$ a hour (not quite sure about the income but it was around 50).So yeah you can have a "money machine" but you gotta have the money to buy and experiance to set such
a thing.
