Hey there everyone, I have been a member for awhile now and have been following threads about people posting their secrets on how to make some extra cash from current clients and prospect clients. What I would like to do is give a bit back now and this is my guide on how to sell to current clients that you have done web design for.
What you will need:
1. Access to their Analytics (Google Analytics is the most popular)
- I always setup an account with any client free of charge (included in price) through Google Analytics so that I can access all of their information and resell to them based on their views/who's viewing.
2. Clients
- It always helps to have a few clients to pitch this to (;
That's it
What to do:
1. Log in to Google Analytics (or whatever tool you use to track traffic).
2. Go to Audience > Overview > Mobile > Overview.
3. Open Audience > Overview > Mobile > Devices (in a new tab).
4. Now look at the juicy data you have in front of you and analyze how worth it it is for your client to get a mobile site. On one of my clients sites he was getting %38 of his traffic on tablet/mobile devices.
5. Go to the top of the page under Overview you will see an option to Export the data. Export it as a PDF and drag it into whatever you would like to build your report in.
6. Now go and view your clients site as a mobile device and screen shot that.
7. Create a proposal with your 3 different pieces of information attached.
8. It's time to call them and set up a meeting.
In the meeting you will discuss the different SEO benifits of a mobile responsive site and also pitch a few re-design options. You can show them the data that you have and what their site looks like now to a mobile user. Explain the traffic coming to the site currently which will most likely be around %25 and then tell them that they are missing out on those potential clients.
This really will be a huge benefit for any business and will also give you the opportunity to provide a service for you client. EVERYONE WINS YAY
I have had a %75 success rate with this method on current clients and thought I would share it. Let me know what you think!
