how to make money from weibo ?

Doing marketing is totally different in China. People trust more on Taobao dot com or the other famous e-commerce website than the independent sites, such as mysitexxx dot com. If you wanna make money from China, you had better understand the Chinese e-commerce ecosystem at first lol.

dunno about marketing your own stuff, but i do know one way to earn money
a friend of mine was launching his consulting service for chinese international students, so he tried marketing on weibo
apparently, if you want someone with a lot of followers to "retweet" (dunno what it's called for weibo, but same function) your posts, you can pay them to do it, and it's not cheap (the price my friend heard was like $300 USD)
so i guess if you want to earn money, you have to first have enough followers, then do commercials for other ppl
i'm sure there are other ways, but agree that it's better to first understand how their e-commerce system works

If you use Weibo on your phone, or offer an English interface, but if you want to advertise on Weibo you better have some Chinese payment methods, like Alipay or WeChat pay. The money making methods on Weibo or any other Chinese SNS is too many.....for example, Weibo has close connections with Taobao, you can set up your own online store or you can just advertise for others
