How to make money from a specific game website?

Hello guys.

I'm a semi-pro dota2 player, most likely a "pub-star", and I would like to make a website with guides (Own-written), funny pictures, videos, news and some more fun activities.

My question is, how can I make money out of it? I really hope I can put adsense (I have an adsense account) but as far as I know, adsense and pictures+videos don't go together, since most of them will be taken from YouTube/Google.
Also, I'm not a big fan of promoting products, I have a bad experiance with it.

What is your suggestion? Putting adsense only in the "guides" and "news" pages? That won't be a good income.
I was thinking about placing ads from an other company (other than adsense) but I don't trust anyone.

Would appreciate every answer.

PS: I researched a lot before posting this thread.

If you want to make money with adsense you need to have a lot of traffic or be in a niche with a high CPC.

Another option is to sell banner ads on your website, but again you'll need a decent amount of traffic to make money here.

I don't know much about your niche but it seems that the best thing to do would be to have premium guides that you can sell.
 
You will be better off doing you own course and hire affiliates to do it for you.

My guess is the CPC in that niche would be crazy high in Adsense. Try it.

offer some downloadable files and try to sell hacks, not to give it for free

@PageMarketingSEO, not really, dotacaps is missing many things that I will be going to add, like guides, news and an option for them to make their own funny memes, etc... But that's for the heads up, gonna take notes from their website ^_^

People who say video and picture sites + adsense equal ban on this board don't have a clue. If you don't post anything against TOS you'll be fine. When you post that funny pic that has a girl with a bikini or cleavage shot. Pole dancing fail videos shit like that, that is when adsense bans you. I've seen countless clueless webmasters do this and get banned, then whine that they were banned for no reason.
 
We are doing pretty good with game / fun / humor sites.
We convert much better than any adsense bullshits
