Google Adwords stopped showing the exact quantity for searches unless you run their ads. Typical. You guys know a way around it?

Nope, gotta run their ads and I heard it was a significant amount of spending too before they show you exact metrics.

I've enabled a campaign for minimum costs but it keeps telling me 'This page shows for search volumes. For a more detailed view, set up and run a campaign.'

Well, shit. Have you moved on to another one then that's showing exact searches? I really got nothing with 10 - 100 and 1k - 10k searches. There's a big fucking difference between 1k and 10k.

Try Bing then scale the results. It's not exact but it gives a better indication.

Due to mobile and Bing being set as a default search engine which people don't change, in many markets Google has 65% - Bing 33% so an easy bit of math would be to double Bings more accurate results to give you Google's results. Or - If you are pissed off with Google's proprietorial attitude towards the internet - just rank and bank on Bing anyway and give Google the elbow. It's so much easier on Bing :)

Thought I'd better add, for B2B and high ticket item stuff, Google gets more like 80% to Bing's 20%. If you are B2C and under $1000 per sale - then Bing is a very viable promotion platform these days, and getting more so by the month.

Thanks. Will check it out. I'll also post here if I find a free alternative that shows Google's exact searches. If I'm performing well in Google, I usually perform better in Bing.

One off topic question: How much is one click when you run ads in adwords? Thanks

What does that information give you? I don't run their ads. That's why I'm not good enough to see exact search volumes.
