For graphic design purposes, I need to use a static QR code that I have in an image. But because I need to distribute the image freely and the QR code contains information I don't want to be spreading around as part of my business, I need to make the QR code inactive. Or I need to create an inactive static QR code that looks the same or very similar to the one I have.

Does anyone know how to do this? Is there something simple I can do to the QR code I have that will make it not scan anymore, but will maintain the same appearance? Or is there a way to create an inactive (doesn't scan and/or contains no information) static QR code that looks similar to the one I have?

You could just create one linking to google or something.
Or what exact information are you scared of being leaked?

I need to create one that looks very similar to the one I already have. Do all static QR codes look similar? I'm seeing examples of QR codes that look very different than mine.

I'm not scared of the information being leaked, I just don't want any information at all associated with this image. Or I at least want to be able to dictate which information is associated with it.

There is no such thing as inactive static QR code. You can make a dynamic QR code and redirect the users to certain URL but it requires a lot of resources.
Why distribute the Image with the QR code if you do not want certain individuals accessing it in the first place?
