how to make a few thousand a month?

It's waaaay too soon to quit trying to succeed at 17. You can always get a dead end job and live in quiet misery like A LOT of people do. Or you can keep trying. At your age it would be good to put effort in developing your brain - try to learn as much as you can. Learn about researching your business interests. This includes knowing how to google so you can find any information you need as long as it exists and is indexed by search engines and research other people's experiences so you can learn from their mistakes. Learn about critical thinking in general, if you have an idea, after you work out how it would succeed, work out how it could fail and have counter plans in place so you can act when shit hits the fan instead of giving up.

If you decide to go to university, study something that will allow you to get a related job as soon as you get out. If you can do the job without a degree it isn't worth getting a degree for it. Keep in mind that if you have a job that supplies constant income you can figure out ways to save and fund your online businesses. This can give you years more of experimenting until you find the niche in which you are successful.

Make efforts to learn about the world in general, this will be of use in everything you do. I recommend jordan peterson's youtube lectures on personality, maps of meaning, and his series on religion. They will help you learn what people are actually like and how to set your life up so you live with the least amount of misery possible. Also how to be stronger in the face of adversity and be more disciplined. All good stuff.

If you don't do anything physical, find a sport that you are willing to practice. If you get tired physically daily you will have a lesser capacity for feeling negative emotions and will be able to keep grinding longer.

All of the above comes from my personal experience. I am 25, I have a job, a second part-time job, and I am working on making money online. I do kickboxing and try to eat clean (high fat, high protein, low carbs) - these 2 things help immensely in regulating my emotional state and being successful at some aspects of my life increases my motivation to succeed financially. Also I can't stand working for other people so there's some more motivation to make it on my own.

You have a lot of things to sort out but time is on your side. Eliminate distractions and focus on the truly important things. Learn to enjoy the grind. Listen to david goggins, jocko willink, jordan peterson. If you adopt the first 2's discipline you will be unstoppable in a few years. Good luck.

Your asking for a method of $5k a month passive income , who doesn't want that and if they had it do u think they would share it , not trying to be hard on u , but ask urself if u took months , yrs. to finally make $5k a month would u give it away....
Look on fiverr see if it has something u can do .. as mentioned , writing is something a few members have picked up on from u so already u have a recognised skill.
Your 17 , u have a lot more struggles in front of u yet.
Good luck.

Hey! It’s not a bad thing. You’re learning as you fail. Many successful people have the knowledge to get them to where they’re at. They learn from failing and experience. Because of your failing, you’re already ahead of many people from the knowledge that you’ve acquired.

Stop trying to make money and start trying to help people solve the problems in their lives.

People only really spend money to fix a problem. Become a solution provider and bank.

What problems do you encounter in your online life that you could fix for other people?

I would advise you to get help from an expert or guide. Hire some coach for you and listen and do what he says. Just follow/implement one method at a time and learn everything about it till you succeed in it.
