Here is a basic guide that I always check for my squeeze pages.
This ain't no rocket science and you should test on your own.

    1. Headings - 30-36 pt, ARIAL

    2. Hand draw elements - this is supposed to increase the conversion up to 30%

    3. Short Sentences and Clear Offer. Here I just go with the guts. "If I am the customer, would I understand what's this about in a few seconds? Would I want it?"

    4. Correct English. This is self-explanatory.

    5. No ecovers. Some tests (done by others) shows a better conversion up to 30-40%.

    6. Arrows. A static arrow can improve your sells copy up to 40%.

    7. Single opt-in. This is where bulk is main focus. This gets even 50% better conversion.

I'm no guru, this are things that I've put together from a few sources.
I encourage you to share your own guidelines.

    1. THE HELVETICA MASTER RACE WILL LIVE ON. But no, OP's right, Arial is boss.

    5. What do you mean ecover? A fake "box" of the (digital)product?

    6. Cool, and it makes sense. You'd be surprised how easily disoriented people can get in absolutely calm situation via anxiety due to decision making/new location or site/unfamiliar people/chasing a dream/and so much more.

    7. So right. People forget that unless you're looking to email market and comply with spam regulation in that regard, you do not need to have double opt-in for subscriptions or other sign-ups. I think single opt-in is fine in most cases, they don't need to re-confirm their subscription, if you just add an unsubscribe link.

    thanks for your research

I think the advice is solid but nothing teaches like an example or two. If someone posts a draft squeeze page I am happy to do a copy rewrite on some of the major points-- HEADLINE, SUB HEAD, CALL TO ACTION AND MAYBE THE PS (ALWAYS USE A PS) -- and maybe others will post their own rewrites so we can disect different approaches. Ultimately copy is king when it is wisely presented and showing how poor or mediocre copy can be easily yet significantly improved adds real value. It is amazing how the right copy can increase conversions.

Anybody got a Squeeze Page that needs a rewrite? Put up a link or the copy and I'll do a quick rewrite.

Before I signed up for this site I was exploring how to build the best converting pages. marketing experiments youtube has some amazing videos about what you should do to help conversions. Ill list my favorite tips.

First 7 seconds or 4 inches the site should answer:
    - Where am I?
    - What can I do here?
    - Why should I do it?

    Reverse sales funnel/Building micro yes:
    - The funnel is pointed up because you are trying to beat gravity that pull customers out of the funnel.
    - A micro yes is when the customer in their minds agrees to go to the next point or section.
    - So from the headline > first paragraph > video > another paragraph > CTA.
    - There is a certain amount of micro yes's you need to get customers to make the macro yes for signing up for newsletter or buying a product.
    - The micro yes's will need to increase depending on how they perceived the cost, newsletter have costs too.
    - The customer must see the value in the CTA or next step to outweighing the costs.

They have a ton of great videos with 100's of examples.
